TOLU FOLARIN FOR SUBDIVISION 4
As a proud Black woman who migrated to Canada at the age of 15 to study at the University of Regina, I understand the challenges and triumphs that shape our diverse communities. Unlike many students who move away from the city after graduation, I chose to stay and give back to the city that has given me so much. My journey is driven by a passion for education and a commitment to social justice.
With both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Social Work, I am deeply committed to lifelong learning and growth. My education has equipped me with the skills to address root concerns of issues and advocate for those who need it most.
Now a mother of three, I see firsthand the importance of a supportive and inclusive educational environment. I believe every child deserves access to quality education and resources. My experiences as a parent and a professional have reinforced my belief in the power of community, collaboration, and innovation to ensure schools where all students can thrive. As a result of my belief in community, I have actively contributed as a board member for several organizations and supported, founded, and co-founded initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for people in Regina.
I am running for the Regina Public School Board Trustee in Subdivision 4 because I want to ensure that every child’s voice is heard, and their potential is nurtured. I also want to ensure that resources are properly allocated. Canada has provided me with a sense of belonging, and I am dedicated to giving back by supporting others, just as I was supported.
Together, we can foster an educational system that reflects the diversity of our community and prepares our children for a bright future. Together, we can ensure that every child’s voice is heard and their potential is nurtured.
Join me in this mission to create lasting change in our schools. Your vote is not just a vote for me; it’s a vote for our children’s future. Let’s build a better tomorrow, together!
"Investing in education is investing in our community."
